Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Engineer – Brisbane (Hybrid) – Competitive Salary + OTE
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Engineer to join our clients growing Brisbane-based team in a hybrid capacity. This is a high-impact, client-facing role suited to a technically strong security professional who thrives in solution design, stakeholder engagement, and driving commercial outcomes.
As a trusted technical advisor, you will lead pre‐sales engagements, architect tailored cybersecurity solutions, and directly contribute to revenue growth and customer success across mid‐to‐large enterprise environments.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Vendor partners to design and position advanced security solutions across modern enterprise environments. This role requires deep technical capability, commercial awareness, and the ability to translate complex security concepts into clear business value.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
* Lead discovery sessions to understand client security posture, risk profile, and strategic objectives
* Provide expert‐level technical pre‐sales support throughout the sales lifecycle
* Design comprehensive cybersecurity solutions across domains including SIEM, MDR, EDR, XDR, DLP, SASE, firewalls, and threat intelligence
* Develop tailored architectures aligned to client compliance and risk frameworks
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
* Build trusted relationships with technical and executive stakeholders
* Act as the primary technical advisor for key accounts
* Prepare and deliver technical presentations, RFIs, RFPs, and Bills of Materials
* Accurately document pipeline and sales activity in HubSpot CRM
* Support marketing initiatives including industry events, seminars, and exhibitions
* Partner with cross‐functional teams to ensure solution accuracy and delivery alignment
* Mentor junior pre‐sales engineers and enable sales teams on technical offerings
Professional Development
* Complete product and services training within the first three months
* Achieve relevant vendor certifications aligned to service offerings
* Maintain currency with emerging security technologies and Australian IT security standards
Skills & Experience
* 3–5+ years' experience in a cybersecurity pre‐sales or client‐facing engineering role
* Strong expertise across networking and cybersecurity domains including MDR, EDR, DLP, SASE, and threat intelligence
* Strong understanding of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
* Experience managing technical engagements from discovery through to implementation
Highly Regarded
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline
* Strong knowledge of Australian IT security standards and frameworks
