Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled catering assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the chef with food preparation and presentation in a fast-paced catering environment.
The role involves chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. We value flexibility and offer shift times that can be tailored to suit your availability, including opportunities for overtime.
* Shift duration: 13.5 hours per day
* 9:30am-8:30pm with 3 hours paid travel time
Remuneration includes $37.74 per hour during daylight shifts and $39.97 per hour for night shifts (7pm-7am).
Key Requirements:
Chef Assistant Skills:
* Previous experience in food preparation and presentation is highly desirable.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills and attention to detail.
* Flexible and willing to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Catering or hospitality certificate or equivalent experience.
* First aid certification and food safety knowledge.
* Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
* Basic math skills and cash handling experience.
