We are currently seeking a Logistics Steering, Optimisation and Clearing Specialist to join the onsite Mercedes-Benz Australia Global Customer Service and Parts (GCSP) Logistics Operations Division. The team collectively manages our impressive 28,000 square metre National Logistics Centre located in Laverton North, Melbourne where the role is based.
By joining our team, you will be involved in all aspects of the operations including warehousing, transportation and supplier management within a role that has plenty of variety with a focus on process optimisation, claim minimisation and reverse logistics.
Our ideal candidate will be ready to be immersed in the logistics and supply chain operations of a large iconic brand and moreover, excited to get hands on in a fast paced, multi-faceted operation.
Given the enormity of the LC operation, the Logistics Steering Optimisation & Clearing (SOC) Specialist is required to:
* Play a pivotal role in optimising our logistics operations through effective data management.
* Provide the necessary support to the Mercedes-Benz internal and external customer network, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure customer expectations and internal targets are met.
* Ensure that Mercedes-Benz Third Party Logistics (3PL) providers are meeting their contractual requirements, key performance indicators and service levels.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data management and automation solutions into existing systems.
* Clearing Management: Investigate, process, and resolve claims related to product defects, damages, and customer complaints. Ensure timely and accurate documentation and communication with relevant stakeholders
* Return Management: Oversee the return process, including authorisation, inspection, and restocking of returned items. Streamline return procedures and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Data Analysis: Utilise data analytics to identify trends, improve processes, and support decision-making. Generate reports and provide insights to management on claims, returns, and inventory performance.
* Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
Key duties & responsibilities
Procedure, Analysis & Optimisation
* Project management of continuous improvement & optimisation ideas for GCSP.
* Detailed analysis of operational reports to highlight areas of improvement for coordination with the GCSP team for improvement.
* Coordination of all procedural documentation and improvement of the GCSP task set.
Returns, Clearing & Scrapping
* Develop continuous improvements for the Logistics Centre based on claims data.
* Manage and administer the vendor claims process, including returns to vendor.
* Manage and administer 3PL Quality Control (QC) area to ensure timely processing of all items allocated to this area, including system monitoring.
* Manage and administer Global Logistics Centre (GLC) Annual return process.
* Ensure claims are processed within agreed timeframes from retailer submission to completion as per 3PL agreement.
* Manage and administer all scrapping processes, daily, weekly, annual and expired parts.
* Administer the compliant method of disposal, including all documentation requirements.
Qualifikationen
What you will need to be successful
* You'll be a team player, organized, friendly, have a relationship styled approach in dealing with suppliers and customers with a can-do attitude.
* Be able to manage your own workload and able to multi-task
* Strong Customer-first approach with strong decision-making skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail and analytical mindset towards Logistics operations.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Proven time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz warehousing and transportation operations.
* Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz SAP, ERP, WMS, and inventory systems (highly desirable).
* Proven project management and continuous improvement initiatives within a Logistics environment.
* A degree (or near completion) in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (highly desirable).
* Familiarity with Warehouse Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) (highly regarded).
