Lead reliable generation for WA’s remote communities
Play a pivotal role in keeping regional Western Australia powered. As Team Leader - Generation, you’ll provide hands-on leadership across power generation operations and maintenance, supporting safe, reliable and sustainable energy supply for some of WA’s most unique and remote communities.
Based in Kununurra (with travel across the region), this role offers more than a job - it’s a lifestyle opportunity. You’ll work closely with a small, tight knit team, enjoy genuine autonomy, and make a visible impact where your expertise truly matters.
What You’ll Do:
* Lead and coordinate the safe operation, maintenance and repair of generation assets, including diesel, gas and hybrid power stations.
* Provide hands-on leadership, coaching and mentoring to generation technicians.
* Plan, schedule and deliver maintenance work packages, ensuring alignment with asset management plans, safety standards and operational budgets.
* Supervise contractors and monitor performance to ensure quality, safety and reliability outcomes are achieved.
* Support continuous improvement across safety, reliability, governance and generation performance, contributing technical expertise across the wider region.
What Sets You Apart:
You’re a proactive, practical leader who enjoys being on the tools as much as guiding a team. You’ll bring:
* A relevant Australian electrical or mechanical trade qualification, with a WA Electrical Worker’s Licence (if electrical trade).
* Significant hands-on experience in generation or heavy industry, including operation and maintenance of diesel, gas and/or renewable generation assets.
* Proven experience leading teams in operational environments, with the ability to plan, prioritise and direct work effectively.
* Strong knowledge of safety systems, isolation and permit-to-work processes, and asset performance standards.
* Confidence working in remote environments, with strong communication skills and the flexibility to travel across regional WA.
