Job Overview
This role is part of a collaborative team working across a diverse project portfolio.
As a Social Impact Strategist, you will contribute to and coordinate various deliverables including social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement strategies, workforce development plans, and community benefit sharing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and contribute to social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement plans, and community/social strategies.
* Analyse social data, identify risks, and propose fit-for-purpose mitigation and engagement approaches.
* Work collaboratively with technical and project teams to deliver on project goals.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and engagement frameworks.
* Provide expert advice to clients on social planning, engagement, and benefit sharing.
* Support the development of proposals, tenders, and fee estimates.
* Participate in stakeholder engagement and consultation activities—both in-person and online.
* Travel to regional project locations, as required (within NSW and interstate).
About You:
You will be a confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in delivering meaningful social outcomes.
What We're Looking For:
* Tertiary qualifications in social science, planning, communications, anthropology, sociology, or a related field.
* At least 3 years' experience in stakeholder engagement, social planning, or social impact assessment.
* Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups.
* Solid understanding of relevant engagement frameworks and social impact guidelines.
* Exposure to mining, infrastructure, energy, or government sectors preferred.
* Certification with IAP2, IAIA, or similar (advantageous but not essential).
* Willingness to travel for site visits and stakeholder engagement as needed.
