Our Gladstone site is the largest integrated cement plant in Australia.
With a diverse set of assets, it is the expertise of our maintenance team (among others) that make our operations successful.
Within the Maintenance team, we are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to draw on their own planning and leadership experience within the cement industry to lead the maintenance planning team responsible for plant and ancillaries, service contracts and management of site major contractors.
Internally, this position is known as "Planning Manager", however titles in other organisations may be "Head of Maintenance Planning", "Methods Manager", "Maintenance Planning Superintendent" or "Asset Planning Manager".
Your Opportunity In this role you will have the opportunity to ensure that system, processes and plans are in place to effectively manage key assets through the daily and weekly plan.
You will also be responsible for the maintenance management system for all planned maintenance activities ensuring the cost control methods are in place.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and with a team of experience Maintenance Planners to lead, your role will be to: Promote a positive safety culture, actively support site safety initiatives, standards and procedures, ensuring full compliance in day-to-day operations, shut down situations and environmental compliance Lead, coach and develop a technically competent, motivated, functional and cohesive Maintenance Planning team Ensure systems, processes and plans are in place to effectively manage kiln and cement milling shortstops Ensure the SAP maintenance management system is maintained for all planned maintenance activities to reflect the schedule and resource requirements within the overall integrated maintenance plan.
Ensure relevant work orders are generated, processed and closed out.
Identify opportunities for optimising plant and planning processes, continuous improvement and maximising value of maintenance spend Actively support development and delivery of maintenance budget, ensuring cost control methods are in place for shutdown delivery Utilise the planning process to deliver cost effective work packaging and a sustainable long-term inventory reduction Ensure plan attainment and other planning KPI's are met or exceeded Ensure work delivery continually balances safety/cost/time/resources for successful outcomes Ensure ACR (Approved Contractor Register) Compliance (audits up to date etc) Monitor, track and manage vendor/contractor performance Maintain financial, progress and productivity status reports of the weekly plan Maintain a planning backlog to zero (no work in the past) and report on adherence to plan Ensure all statutory requirements for maintenance of pressure vessels, fire protection systems, cranes etc are maintained.
What You'll Bring Proven heavy industrial maintenance and planning experience in a leadership role Minimum 3 years cement manufacturing experience Experience in managing a functional team Strong leadership and team building skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills, particularly Microsoft project Full understanding of SAP maintenances, systems and processes Advanced knowledge of budget setting, tracking and forecasting Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline, project management or advanced trades.
