Job Overview:

The Facility Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Port Hedland Facility. This includes oversight of site infrastructure, equipment, contractors, and workshop operations, ensuring alignment with company standards, maintenance plans, budgets, and safety requirements.

The role ensures all activities are carried out in accordance with XCMG's Environmental, Safety, and Health Management System (ESHEMS) and contributes to delivering reliable operational support for both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

* Oversee daily operations of the facility, including maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, and systems.
* Schedule and coordinate preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
* Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment required to meet work schedules and delivery targets.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and operational readiness across the facility.

Team & Contractor Leadership

* Lead and manage a team of maintenance personnel, contractors, and workshop staff.
* Conduct performance reviews, training needs analysis, and mentoring.
* Ensure compliance of all personnel and contractors with site policies and safety standards.
* Manage work force manning levels to match the changing schedule requirements including approving leave.
* Effectively manage all maintenance personnel, XCMG and subcontractors working within the Workshop.
* Ensure all workshop equipment is maintained in a safe and usable condition as per manufacture's specification or recommendations.

Health, Safety & Environment

* Implement and promote a strong safety-first culture across all activities.
* Enforce adherence to ESHEMS, relevant legislation, and safe systems of work.
* Identify and mitigate hazards and risks through proactive inspections and engagement.
* Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
* Comply with all relevant legislation, applicable standards and guidelines, and all relevant policies and procedures.
* Undertake risk management activities to identify, eliminate and/or manage risks in the workplace.
* Eliminate preventable work-related injuries and illness through the control of foreseeable hazards.

Asset & Facility Maintenance

* Ensure all site and workshop equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications and operational requirements.
* Oversee contract negotiations and management for outsourced services.
* Ensure facility infrastructure is maintained to a high standard, supporting operational efficiency.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

* Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Engage with the community and relevant stakeholders to build positive relationships.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

* Trade qualification or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical or maintenance environments.
* Proven experience in managing facilities, workshops, or maintenance operations.
* Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities.
* Experience working with mobile mining equipment and heavy plant.
* Sound understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* High level of organizational and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

* Prior experience in remote or regional site operations.
* Familiarity with maintenance planning systems or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Certificates & Licenses

* Current Western Australia Driver's License (mandatory)
* Forklift Ticket (LF)
* Working at Heights Certification
* Confined Space (preferred)
* First Aid (preferred)

Work Environment

* Site-based role in Port Hedland with workshop and yard exposure
* PPE required at all times while on site
