This is a TO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range.

About the Role

As the school's Technical Officer, you will support a broad range of corporate service activities, with a focus on providing timely and effective IT support to staff and students. Your responsibilities will include setting up student devices in line with Department of Education (DoE) standards, assisting staff with IT-related concerns, and demonstrating a working knowledge of Apple devices. In this role, you will contribute to the efficient delivery of the school's IT management program, ensuring smooth operation of technology systems across the school. You will report directly to the Business Manager and/or Principal and play a key role in supporting the school's digital learning environment.

This is a temporary part-time position (0.83 FTE), working 60 hours per fortnight, until 20 February 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Your Responsibilities

As the School Technical Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Provide advice and assistance on maximising the potential of ICT operations within the school, including acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and replacement.
* Support the school community with technical advice, instruction and assistance with electronic equipment, in accordance with departmental, school and manufacturer's policy, guidelines and network standards.
* Assist in the provision of in-service training to staff, on the effective application of ICT tools to successfully achieve and deliver educational services to students.
* Provide effective and efficient support to staff and students to resolve problems associated with school computing facilities, whilst ensuring high end customer focus and communication.
* Provide regular preventative maintenance, routine and emergency repairs to all ICT facilities and associated electronic equipment.

Capacity to coordinate office administration systems and contribute to the effective operation of a team providing quality school services.

Works with supervisor to review and develop systems and services to meet the needs of a changing organisational environment.

Communicates with influence

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) including the ability to communicate messages clearly and concisely, to deliver quality service outcomes for the school community.
