Rio Tinto is looking for a Botanically mindedTechnician Mechanical – Digestionto support reliability and improvement in the Digestion Maintenance Areas of the Yarwun refinery.

This role is a great opportunity for a mechanically minded individual who can provide technical advice and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for assets
Deliver projects for asset and safety improvement
Update BOM and strategy
Review asset performance and recommend improvements
Optimise maintenance strategies
Improve work quality through documentation review
Scope complex tasks
Oversee repairable spare part process for the area
Coach and share technical advice with area tradespersons
About You
Strong technical background in Industrial Mechanical fixed plant
Strong problem-solving skills
A drive for continuous improvement of all aspects of operations work management
Safety orientated, analytical and able to work effectively within a team and on your own
Certificate III Mechanical Engineering qualification or similar, with experience working in SAP an advantage

Where you'll be working
Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10 km north-west of Gladstone, the Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in ****.
The plant processes bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, producing more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually.
With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support our 24-hour operation.
Yarwun is a proud member of the Gladstone community, and along with Boyne Smelters Limited and Queensland Alumina Limited, support community investments that improve the livability of the Gladstone region through the Here for Gladstone community fund.
