An exciting opportunity is available for a reliable and dedicated Maintenance Assistant at our beautiful village, Bernborough, to help keep our village looking its best.
Located beside the iconic Doomben Racecourse, Bernborough Ascot is a vibrant retirement community with beautifully maintained spaces that create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

In this role, you'll focus on the general upkeep of our grounds and assist with light maintenance tasks.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment
Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on tools
Maintain and care for outdoor spaces, including, carparks, footpaths, and decking areas.
Monitor and implement the nutrient program to support plant health.
Maintain and clean the swimming pool in compliance with safety standards.
Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance on tools and machinery.
Inspect grounds for hazards and promptly perform necessary repairs.
Remove rubbish and debris, and maintain outdoor signage and lighting.
Assist with general maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist with driving the village bus when required (valid driver's license preferred).
Approximately 70% of your time will be dedicated to grounds care and 30% to general maintenance tasks, ensuring our spaces remain safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.
About You
The successful applicant will have demonstrated competence as a grounds person or maintenance assistant or have experience in a similar role, as well as:
Be organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Be computer literate e.g. basic knowledge with using Excel, Word, Outlook, Apps
Understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job
Currently hold an Australian Drivers licence
A current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
The ability to take initiative and be pro-active
The ability to work individually and in a team
Relevant internal training and inductions will be provided to the successful candidate on-site.
