About the role
Nanango Services Club is seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our dedicated culinary team. This is a full-time position based in our Nanango, Queensland location. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, from menu development to staff management.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement innovative menu items that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the club's dining offerings
* Manage and lead a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation and service
* Oversee food ordering, inventory management and budgeting to maximise efficiency and profitability
* Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Foster a positive, collaborative work environment in the kitchen
* Work closely with the management team to plan and execute catering for special events and functions
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef or in an equivalent senior culinary role
* Proven track record of developing and executing successful menus for a hospitality establishment
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team
* Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and cost control practices
* Passion for creating high-quality, innovative dishes using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
* Tertiary qualification in Culinary Arts or a related field is desirable
