**Role**

Kennedys is looking for available students studying their LLB or JD in their second year or above and provides a fantastic opportunity to experience working in a fast-past law firm specialising in dispute resolution and advisory services across a number of industry sectors including insurance and healthcare.

The successful paralegal will assist lawyers in case preparation, draft correspondence, conduct legal research and provide general proactive assistance to a team of lawyers as and when required. Attendance at court for filing and note taking will also be required.

Kennedys is a global, UK-based firm, and has had a presence in Australia since 2006. In 2017, Kennedys Melbourne opened to reinforce the firm's commitment to the Australian market. The office advises on Casualty, Liability, Healthcare, Commercial Litigation and Commercial matters. Kennedys is proud of its friendly and supportive workplace culture.

**Clients**
- Insurers and re(insurers)
- Medical defence organisations.

**Cases**
- General insurance (professional indemnity & financial lines)
- Medical malpractice
- Commercial litigation such as class actions

**Required experience**
- Co-ordinate work activities
- Prioritise tasks/multi-task
- Carry out duties and meet deadlines in accordance with instructions
- Communicate effectively in a business environment
- Represent Kennedys to a high standard at all times.
