About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) fixed-term part time (0.5 FTE) opportunity up to 3 March **** with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling.
KDC has an office in Broome and Kununurra but may consider candidates based in other Kimberley Towns, supporting a work from home arrangement.
Responsibilities
As the communications officer, you will be designing and implementing our public communications channels from the ground up. This includes taking charge of our website, creating an effective regional social media voice, coordinating work with external media, and ensuring our community is well-informed about opportunities and issues in our region. Your work will not be office-centric but will involve numerous opportunities to experience our work first-hand with our partners and communities.
Qualifications
We are seeking a passionate communications professional who is creative, well-organised, has great written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve and deliver across competing priorities in a dynamic, stakeholder-focused environment. The ideal candidate will be independent, comfortable with complexity and multicultural contexts, and experienced in social media program design and website design and delivery.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.
You will be required to provide a current National Police Certificate (police clearance) before commencing employment. If not currently held, this must be acquired prior to appointment at applicant's expense.
