The Opportunity

Join the Revenue Management Branch within Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS), part of the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) and apply your financial expertise to support essential services delivered across Western Australia.

As a Finance Officer, you will provide high-quality financial and business advisory services in a complex, high-volume regulatory environment. Working with senior leaders and key stakeholders, you will support revenue budgeting, financial forecasting, costing and pricing of services, and the annual fees and charges review.

The role combines strong analytical work with stakeholder engagement. You will apply your skills in cost recovery, financial modelling and data analysis to support informed decision-making, manage risks and identify revenue opportunities, while contributing to improvements in financial management and governance.

This opportunity suits a finance professional who enjoys working with complex data, translating insights into clear advice, and partnering with the business to deliver practical outcomes.

Important Skills for Success in This Role

To be successful in this position, applicants will demonstrate the following capabilities:

A strong understanding of cost structures and cost drivers, including the ability to analyse the relationship between activities, demand volumes, and service delivery costs.
Proven forecasting capability, with experience in identifying internal and external factors that influence service demand and translating demand forecasts into revenue and financial projections.
Demonstrated experience in undertaking cost–benefit analysis, providing evidence-based financial advice to support management decision-making and policy or operational choices.
Experience in conducting and analysing time-and-motion studies, including documenting process maps and applying findings to service costing, efficiency analysis, or resource allocation.
