The Role
Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy for the role of Auto Electrician.
Reporting to the George Fisher Mine Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in safely and effectively performing planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
Working in a team and promoting site safety standards, you will ensure that the highest quality of work is conducted and maintained.
This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and requires you to work a roster comprising of 7 on 7 off day and night continuous shift.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Demonstrate and promote a high level of safety commitment
- Work thoroughly and consistently when maintaining site vehicles and equipment
- Work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary trade team
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, component change outs, diagnostics in our surface and underground workshops, including in the field
- Perform works on a range of mobile mining equipment including Caterpillar, Sandvik, Epiroc, Normet and Komatsu
- Participate in continuous improvement projects
The successful candidate will possess:
- Trade qualification - Auto Electrical
- Capability in reading and interpreting auto electrical schematics
- Ability to conduct fault finding on electrical systems and machines
- Efficiency with OEM diagnostics tooling
- Current Australian manual driver's license
- Holding a current Refrigeration Handling Licence is highly regarded
- Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system
- Experience in Excel would be an advantage
