About the role
We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our onion packhouse team.
This is a key role maintaining and improving the reliability of our mechanical systems — including onion packing lines, conveyors, washers, dryers, and spraying systems.
You'll use your fitting, turning, and welding skills to keep production running smoothly and support continuous improvement across our operations.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, and service packhouse machinery and conveyors.
Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and hydraulic repairs.
Carry out welding, fabrication, and modification of machine components.
Maintain and calibrate onion spraying and curing systems.
Implement preventative maintenance programs.
Work safely and collaboratively with the packhouse and farm teams.
Requirements
You're a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in doing things right the first time.
You're proactive, adaptable, and enjoy keeping complex machinery performing at its best.
Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning, Mechanical Maintenance, or equivalent.
Strong welding and fabrication skills (MIG / TIG).
Experience maintaining agricultural or industrial processing equipment.
A focus on safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.
HACCP or Freshcare awareness (desirable).
