About Us

At Family Centered Support Services, we provide a range of services to children, young people and families, including respite care, in‐home support and residential out‐of‐home care. We believe children belong with their families whenever it is safe and possible, and we work closely with the Department of Child Safety and the families to address the root causes of challenging behaviours and support positive change.

About The Role

As a Team Member, you'll play a vital role in supporting Children and Young People living in Residential Out‐of‐Home Care at our therapeutic, rural properties, where we focus on a technology‐reduced model of care. You will engage with and support Children and Young People who exhibit challenging behaviours, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural and emotional goals, and oversee their daily care. Our mission is to equip Children and Young People with new coping strategies and pro‐social behaviours to help them transition to a forever home.

Daily Tasks May Include

* Providing hands‐on support in teaching life skills to our Young People – cooking, cleaning, budgeting, completing homework, personal care, booking and attending appointments, participating in sports and engaging in school work.
* Developing support documentation, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports.
* Assessing and supporting the developmental progress of our Young People.
* Liaising with and reporting to stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning and ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
* Creating activity plans and facilitating community engagement for the Young Person.
* Safely supporting behaviours using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.

Benefits

* Competitive salary range of $70,000 – $100,000 per annum plus superannuation (full‐time potential).
* Comprehensive induction and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.
* 24/7 dedicated on‐call support.
* Access to Not‐for‐Profit salary packaging to lower taxable income.
* Be part of a rapidly growing learning organisation.
* Above‐award remuneration, including penalties and allowances.
* Work vehicle and meals provided during shifts.
* Opportunities for career advancement.
* Ongoing training, development and support.
* Access to Employee Assistance Programme counselling services.
* QLeave portable long‐service leave contributions.

Essential Requirements

* Current Australian Driver's Licence (Open or P2).
* Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it).
* Availability for shift work (24‐hour model), including weekdays, weekends and sleepovers as scheduled.
* Approved LSC check through the department, or ability to obtain one.
* Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
* Flexibility to meet the organisation's needs.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet specific time‐frames and targets.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organisation and reporting.
* Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Provide two recent professional references.

Desirable Attributes

* Understanding of trauma‐informed practices.
* Previous TCI training.
* Completion of Hope & Healing modules.
* Experience working directly with children and families in a support role.
