About The Role

The Family Mental Health Support Service (FMHSS), funded by the Department of Social Services, is an early intervention and prevention support service for children aged 0–18 years and their families who are at risk of, or experiencing, issues relating to mental health.


Role

* Deliver personalised one‑on‑one support to children and young people, creating a safe space for clients to share, explore, and learn about their mental health challenges and strategies to reduce risks.
* Provide education and strategies to parents, equipping them with the tools and understanding to support their child's mental health journey effectively.
* Facilitate tailored group programs focused on addressing a range of mental health‑related topics, such as self-esteem, confidence, anger management, and social skills.
* Undertake basic assessments, provide information and manage sensitive enquiries.
* Develop and implement Family Action Plans.
* Connect individuals with additional support services as needed.


About You

This opportunity is available immediately and is open to candidates with a range of experience. Essential Criteria

* Criminal record check (essential or willing to obtain)
* Working with children's check (essential or willing to obtain)
* NDIS Workers screening clearance (essential or willing to obtain)
