Responsibilities
The Role
The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for the optimisation of the performance, availability, and safety of fixed plant assets, by liaising with the Process Team, Maintenance Planners, Supervisors and Superintendents. This is to prioritise mechanical maintenance activities including Preventative and Ad hoc tasks to achieve maintenance targets and ensure statutory compliance and production continuity.
The successful candidate will liaise closely with the Supervisor Maintenance, Superintendent Maintenance and production team to prioritise maintenance activities to reduce the impact on production. You will assist in work planning, scheduling and resource allocation with a focus on the weekly maintenance plan, practice effective cost management and identify cost minimisation strategies. Additionally, you will ensure accurate input of daily maintenance statistics into the process plant reporting system to track downtime and safety and ensure all work carried out has been recorded in the mines book. This role will manage contractors on short & long-term basis.
About You
Qualifications and experience
* Mechanical Trade Qualification with a minimum of 3 years post-trade experience, preferably within the mining industry and on fixed plant.
* Manual C Class driver's license
* Experience in asset management and preventative maintenance schedules.
* Strong understanding of, and ability to use, Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), e.g., Pronto, SAP, or MEX.
* Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneNote.
* Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights competencies.
* First Aid and CPR qualifications.
* Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) training.
* Forklift (LF) and/or Telehandler experience advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than 3 months and if site based must hold a WA White Card.
You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
