About the Opportunity
You will be responsible for the provision of IT services to the organisation and the Community in the areas including hardware and software support, voice and data communication, security systems and public radio re-broadcast. You will have a particular focus on providing day to day leadership and direction to the ICT team to support enhanced service delivery and achievement of strategic business goals.
Reporting to the General Manager (Corporate Services), you will:
* manage a multi-disciplinary team that covers the functions within a modern ICT department;
* mentor, coach, and develop employees in the department in order to maximise performance;
* plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the acquisition, development, maintenance and use of computer and telecommunication systems for Council;
* coordinate collective ICT Schedule of Works (infrastructure, development, applications and projects) with ICT Team Leaders for operational planning requirements;
* manage the provision of secure and stable ICT services to support business outcomes through effective risk management strategies; and
* maintain highly professional, customer oriented, innovative, and future focused ICT capability.
About yourself
To be a successful applicant, you will have:
* a relevant tertiary qualification in a related field (such as IT/ICT), OR be able to demonstrate five (5) years equivalent related experience;
* a high order technical knowledge and expertise in the management of complete information and communication technology systems operating across a distributed network and supporting a mobile workforce;
* proven and demonstrated experience leading and co-ordinating a modern ICT team;
* experience in adopting a planned, comprehensive, and risk-based approach to implementing organisational change;
* ability in applying exceptional business acumen, resulting in innovative solutions to suit business needs and emerging trends; and
* strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
