Your Opportunity:
* Deliver clinical services within an integrated mental health service environment with a multidisciplinary team focus. The provisions of these services are to consumers and carers experiencing and affected by serious mental disorders and other serious mental health problems across both the community and inpatient settings.
* Participation in all aspects of the Model of Service Delivery including an extended hours service.
* To provide expert clinical and patient-centred care within Acute Care Team by supporting the facilitation and provision of quality and cost effective nursing services which are consistent with contemporary standards and evidence-informed practice.
What we're looking for:
* Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of contemporary nursing practice within an Acute Care Team and the ability to apply advanced professional judgement, and critical thinking to negotiate complex clinical requirements and to appropriately manage patient-centred care requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to comprehensively lead and co-ordinate Acute Care Team activities on a shift-by-shift basis, working effectively and consistently under pressure, providing timely and judicious advice to professional and operational colleagues, managers, and other key stakeholders regarding patient care, patient flow and service capability.Demonstrated ability to assess the mental health needs of consumers and their families and to formulate a therapeutic plan and carry out that plan in both individual and group settings including an ability to respond quickly and effectively in a team context to consumers presenting with immediate and serious mental health problems.
* Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both co-operatively and independently in a flexible and innovative multi-disciplinary team setting, collaboratively with community groups and other agencies, and to contribute to the ongoing development review of the Service.
* Demonstrated understanding of a commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement, the implementation of National Standards for Mental Health Services and participation in research and evaluation and other project work.
* Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of National and State Mental Health Directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist Mental Health Services.
* Knowledge of, or an ability to acquire knowledge of, procedures, policies and regulations which impact upon the position and a knowledge of contemporary Human Resource Management issues such as Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Mandatory possession of a nursing qualification from a registered tertiary institution or completion of an approved hospital training program and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* Psychologist: Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as a Psychologist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* Occupational Therapist: Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as an Occupational Therapist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* Social Worker: Mandatory possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership.
* Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short-listing in the selection process.

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $131,900 p.a., comprising salary between $107,960 - $115,604 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6 (1)), or remuneration package value up to $132,567 p.a., comprising salary between $79,051 - $116,189 p.a. (HP3), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.) (Applications will remain current for 12 months).
