As a skilled nurse, you will bring your exceptional customer-facing skills and passion to deliver an outstanding service while working together to ensure Australia's supply of blood products.
* Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
* Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
* Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
* Set up machines and collections equipment
* Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
* Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
* Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation
Our comprehensive training program ensures you are well supported. To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess:
* Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
* Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
* Utilise your expertise having completed a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold a current AHPRA registration
* Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
Flexibility is essential over the Christmas and New Year period.
