Role Description
We are seeking a full‐time Electronic System Technician with full Australian working rights to join our team in Perth, WA. The Electronic System Technician at CleanSubSea is operating as part of the engineering team. This role is responsible for assisting Engineers in the implementation and R&D of Control systems.

Key Responsibilities of the Position
* Ongoing support for all electronic and control systems including production, testing and servicing.
* Selection of electrical, instrument, actuators, and electronic components.
* Evaluation of selected components to ensure they are fit for purpose.
* Designing network topologies with Ethernet, EtherCAT, Canbus, Modbus, and other serial links, creating well‐ordered and readable drawings, specifications, test plans and other documentation.
* Evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies.
* Follow designs all the way through from concept, proof of concept, factory prototyping, testing and then manufacture and commissioning of multiple units.
* Our prototype uses Phoenix PLCNext Engineer software and Beckhoff PLC's and Twincat programming software. Canbus communication to field devices and between controllers. Familiarity with this or some similar field Bus and PLC languages is highly desirable.
* Provide support for breakdowns and critical production issues related to electronic and control systems.
* Assisting engineers with interfacing electrical, electronic or electromechanical devices and testing.
* System level fault finding and diagnosis.
* Investigate and identify root cause of the above and identify and execute solutions to prevent repeat events from occurring.
* Suggest improvement projects to resolve bottlenecks through optimisation of plant performance.
* Interpret technical documents (multiple specifications and data sheets) and ensuring the Engineering documentation is in line with standards.
* Writing technical documents, test procedures, technical specifications, user manuals and general record keeping.
* Awareness and some experience with Functional Safety requirements and the principles of OH&S laws for industrial safe working practice.
* International travel may be required.
* At times there will be a need to work near water and on medium to large ships, so a basic swimming competency and tolerance of ship's motion is desirable.
Your Educational Background
* Tertiary qualifications i.e. TAFE Diploma in Electrotechnology or equivalent.
Your Professional Experience & Competencies
* Proven experience (i.e. minimum 10 years preferred) as an Electronic System Technician
* Strong knowledge of electronics with a good understanding of control systems.
* Ability to understand electronic and electrical schematics and
* Strong fault finding and diagnosis skills.
* A working knowledge of Python, C or Arduino is desirable.
* Experience with computer‐aided design (CAD) software for electrical and electronic design i.e. Autocad, Altium, or Kicad (highly regarded).
* Experience in HIL or SIL testing will be highly regarded.
* Experience with electrical and electronic systems is highly regarded
* Experience with robotics, particularly underwater, is highly regarded

* Drivers licence
* Forklift license would be an advantage
* Strong organisational and problem‐solving skills
* Some mechanical systems knowledge is highly desirable
