Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mission Protection Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Mission Protection Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on the protection of mission systems.
The successful candidate will directly contribute to government's mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action on mission protection activities. They will collaborate with internal and external entities for activities associated with site and mission inspections and report findings and recommendations.
The engineer will also coordinate and support assessment of mission essential functions. They will work closely with Weapons and Tactics teams by assessing current and emerging threats; contribute to space protection doctrine, strategies, plans, architectures, and associated requirements.
The engineer will provide vetted analysis and recommendations to improve space protection architectures and capabilities; develop threat mitigation tactics, techniques, and procedures; train operations personnel on threat mitigation.
Additionally, they will monitor and evaluate war games and exercises (as requested), capture and assess lessons learned for best practice implementation to further improve space protection efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more relevant experience.
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, both current within 4 years prior to start.
* Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more relevant experience.
* Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.
* In-depth knowledge of satellite operations and satellite components (bus and payload) and associated ground systems and related mission protection topics.
* Knowledge of orbital mechanics; analyzes and readily articulates pros/cons of orbital changes.

Desired Skills
* Familiarity with Digital Engineering/MBSE, AGILE development, cloud technologies.
