At Moorefield Park Childcare Centre we demonstrate our strong commitment to education and community. As part of the Centre Leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role supporting and developing Educators & Teachers in your centre. You'll form strong relationships with children, families and communities, and understand the significance of your role.
Your role as the Assistant Director will be an off the floor position, allowing you to support the centre Director with administrative duties in the office and support families with enquiries along with covering breaks and planning as required across all age groups.
This is a permanent position, 5 days a week, 37.5 hours
About the role
Assist to manage the day to day operations of the Centre in line with legislative requirements and company policies and procedures
Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to all staff, students and volunteers
Assist to manage staffing rosters efficiently and effectively manage the financial requirements of the centre in line with budget guidelines
Deliver consistent high-quality standards for centre presentation and work practices
Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, families, children and the local business community
Assist to ensure you are actively attracting, converting, and retaining families by effectively managing and overseeing tours, enrolments and orientation in conjunction with our Enrolments Team
Assist to ensure that high quality early learning programs are delivered by a passionate team of Educators
Oversee and implement a program based on children's needs and interest
Support and work collaboratively with your team and assist and support the Nominated Supervisor in the general day to day running of the service.
About you
Diploma in Children's Services as approved by ACECQA
Experience mentoring a team as an Assistant Director and Educational Leader in an early childhood setting (preferred)
Current WWCC, approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications
Extensive understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework (VEYLDF), National Quality Standards (NQS), Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead and mentor a team of qualified and committed early childhood professionals
Willingness to undertake and co-ordinate ongoing professional development trainingfor Educators
Thorough experience in supporting and managing staff in a medium to large service
Critical thinking and reflective practice need to form a part of your day to day practice
