Your new role
As a Catchment Management Planner, you will design and deliver strategies for stormwater, floodplain, and waterways management. You'll coordinate Floodplain Risk Management Studies and Plans, provide specialist advice on planning instruments, and collaborate with government agencies and catchment committees to deliver projects at scale. You'll also manage consultants, budgets, and grant-funded initiatives while ensuring projects align with long-term strategic goals.
What you'll need to succeed
* Tertiary qualifications in civil/environmental engineering, natural resource management, environmental science, planning, or equivalent.
* At least 5 years' experience in floodplain management, planning, or environmental engineering.
* Strong project management skills, including procurement, contracts, and budgeting.
* Knowledge of Water Sensitive Urban Design and Integrated Water Cycle principles.
* Understanding of NSW Flood Risk Management Process and Flood Prone Land Policy.
* Ability to provide strategic advice and influence planning outcomes.
* Current C Class Driving Licence.
