Part Time, 6 Month Fixed Term Contract24 hours per fortnightNortheast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.Our Cancer & Wellness Service supports people with cancer, whether at diagnosis, during treatment and beyond, providing high quality comprehensive cancer care close to home for those in the Central Hume Catchment.Our services include a team of dedicated specialists cancer nurses, and a Day Chemotherapy and Medical Infusion Unit.The Day Oncology Unit at NHW comprises 9 treatment chairs for the administration of cancer treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive treatments), and infusions for neurology, inflammatory bowel and other medical conditions.The Registered Nurse, Oncology is required to:complete comprehensive nursing assessments of patients attending the Unitcomplete Supportive Care Screening of patientsprovide patient/carer education and supportprovide safe administration of cancer treatments and other medical infusionsliaise with all members of multidisciplinary team as requiredOur Region:Wangaratta has a population of approximately 30,000 and our catchment serves a community of around 100 000 throughout the northeast.An easy 2 ½ hours drive on the Hume freeway from Melbourne and less than an hour to Albury airport with direct flights to most of the large Australian cities.We have over 11 schools including private Catholic and Anglican schooling options for pre-year 12.Our region is a popular destination year-round.
