Location: The role could be based out of any of our PwC Australia offices across Australia.
At PwC Australia, our Data & AI team is expanding and we're looking for an AI Engineer to join our vast community of solvers. By joining PwC's Data & AI team, you'll play a vital role in designing, constructing, and deploying production‑grade AI and Generative AI solutions. Working with clients across various industries, you will engage in hands‑on work with complex and diverse datasets, focusing on deploying and refining advanced generative AI solutions.
What you'll do:
* Assist in the design, construction, and deployment of production‑grade AI solutions, focusing on Generative AI and basic agentic workflows.
* Support the implementation of cloud‑native AI systems, gaining proficiency with LLMOps/DevOps pipelines, ensuring scalability and reliability.
* Participate in the evaluation and fine‑tuning of AI models, utilising open‑source tools.
* Communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and collaboration.
What we're looking for:
* Experience: 2+ years of experience delivering data‑driven AI and GenAI solutions in a business environment.
* Analytical Skills: Strong problem‑solving abilities and a keen analytical mindset.
* Communication Skills: Ability to convey technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
* Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
* Technical skills:
o Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with Java is a plus.
o Experience with data manipulation and analysis using libraries like pandas, NumPy and SciPy.
o Hands‑on experience with AI and agentic frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, LangGraph, CrewAI, etc.).
o Hands‑on experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
o Experience with data engineering and pipelines (SQL, ETL/ELT, distributed systems) to handle large datasets and unstructured data, data cleaning, and preprocessing.
o Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
o Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices.
o Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.

The minimum salary for a Senior Associate in this role is AUD 85,700 including superannuation. Higher grades will receive a salary range above this in line with the salary bands for these positions.
