**About the role**:
Reporting to the General Manager, your primary objective is to develop and execute their entire communications strategy. You will develop communications plans and content to ensure key messages are developed across both external and internal audiences. A key focus for you will be on external communications and you will source, write and publish positive stories in a variety of channels including social media, the website as well pitching to the media to get this Iconic Australian NFP more exposure across Australia.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement the strategic communication strategy | This is a strategic and hands-on opportunity
- Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve win/win outcomes both internally and externally. Internally that would be with the CEO, the marketing and fundraising team, the HR team and the Research team. Externally that would be creative and PR agencies as well as the media too
- Work collaboratively with Researchers to prepare compelling cases for support and pitch materials. You are curious in nature and have a pro-active mindset to make things happen and dig out compelling stories
- Develop content for both the website and social media channels as well as key internal communication campaigns too
**Skills and Experience**:
To be successful for this role you will posses the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Media and/or Marketing;
- Exceptional Communications experience working in a similar role to this previously
- Demonstrated experience in managing a range of communication channels (social media, newsletter, printed media, etc.);
- Previous experience in a similar role working for a Not-for-profit or Health Care sector is preferred but not essential
- Excellent written communication skills with all round content writing and proofing skills across print and digital channels for multiple audience groups
- Robust interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organisation;
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
