Position Overview
Lead Movement And Create Great Places – the Movement and Place Team Leader will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the delivery of sustainable public domain, transport, and place‐making outcomes. You will manage a team of technical specialists, including Public Domain Planners and Strategic Transport Planning Engineers, ensuring all projects align with Council objectives, legislative requirements, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a dynamic team in shaping sustainable public domain and transport strategies.
* Drive innovative, evidence‐based solutions for urban design and place‐making initiatives.
* Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure high‐quality outcomes aligned with Council objectives.
* Manage integrated projects while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
* Develop and implement public domain strategies and provide high‐level strategic input into planning instruments.
* Mentor team members to deliver innovative solutions and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines.
* Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders within a multidisciplinary team context.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* A degree in Planning, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in strategic public domain and transport planning within local government.
* Proven track record in leading and managing multi‐disciplinary teams.
* Strong knowledge of the EP&A Act 1979, Local Government Act, and related legislation.
* Excellent report writing, presentation, and stakeholder negotiation skills.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes experienced professionals with skillsets across place‐making, sustainability, traffic and transport, urban design and planning.
