Location & Working Hours
KU Kahibah Road. The centre operates from 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM. This position will require you to work two days a week, Monday and Tuesday, for seven hours each.
About the Service
This Long Day Care Service is a modern, purpose‐built building that has been providing education and care to children from 6 weeks to 6 years old for more than 15 years. It is located on George Street, just off the Pacific Highway, with free on‐site parking and bus links to Newcastle Interchange on Kahibah Road. The service features a large outdoor yard with sandpits, mud kitchens, climbing equipment and shaded play areas, as well as a calm, well‐equipped break room for staff.
Team & Facilities
The nursery, toddler and preschool rooms are well‐resourced, sustainably furnished and staffed by a diverse, dynamic team of qualified and childcare educators. The nursery has two diploma‐qualified educators and one childcare educator; the toddler room has one diploma‐qualified educator and two childcare educators; the preschool room has one teacher and one childcare educator.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Australian working rights
* Current NSW Working with Children Check
* ACECQA‐recognised Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
* Completed training in Child Protection legislation
* Current First Aid and CPR certificate
* Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
* Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
