**About the role**

The Manager is a key leadership position within the Strategy & Partnerships directorate, responsible for steering critical policy, project, and general management functions on behalf of the organisation.

This role entails the design and development of complex policy initiatives and reforms that align with both organizational objectives and government commitments. The Manager will also oversee the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of a diverse portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring their effective implementation and alignment with the directorate's mission.

This position is vital for advancing impactful policy initiatives and facilitating the successful execution of strategic projects that contribute to the overall goals of the directorate.

**About you**

We are seeking a highly qualified Manager with the following essential skills and experience:

- Proven track record in designing and implementing complex policy initiatives and reforms that align with organizational and governmental objectives.
- Strong experience in leading and managing a diverse portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
- Proficient in conducting strategic data analysis to inform policy development, funding models, and program design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and achieving key milestones.
- Exceptional skills in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management.
- Experience in facilitating consultations and negotiations to develop collaborative solutions and support sound policy decisions.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing strategies for the monitoring and evaluation of policies and projects to ensure effectiveness and accountability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for presenting complex information clearly and persuasively.
- A degree in public policy, management, social sciences, or a related field; advanced qualifications are preferred.
- A strong understanding of and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within policy and project frameworks.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
