About the Role

As the Policy and Programs Officer, you will contribute to the accreditation of primary medical programs by coordinating assessment activities, supporting expert assessment teams, and delivering high quality reports and workshops. You will work closely with the Manager, Medical School Accreditation, Program Coordinators, and the Indigenous Policy and Programs team to ensure accreditation processes are robust, culturally safe, and aligned with AMC standards.

This role involves a mix of program coordination, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and event/workshop delivery. You will also participate in on site accreditation visits (approximately two to three per year), where you will meet with medical school stakeholders and observe facilities to support evidence-based accreditation outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate and deliver accreditation assessment activities for medical schools, including supporting expert assessment teams and participating in on‑site visits.

* Draft and prepare high‑quality accreditation reports, committee papers, and documentation.

* Plan and deliver assessor training and provider workshops, including logistics, resources, and communications.

* Contribute to accreditation policy, standards reviews, and continuous process improvements.

* Support governance processes for the Medical Schools Accreditation Committee (MedSAC).

* Manage workplans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.

* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and Māori partners, ensuring culturally safe engagement.

About You

You will bring strong organisational skills, excellent written communication, and the ability to synthesise complex information. You enjoy working collaboratively, managing multiple priorities, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

* Minimum two years’ experience relevant to program coordination, policy, accreditation, education, or stakeholder engagement.

* Excellent written communication and analytical skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.

* High attention to detail and strong administrative capability.

* Good judgement, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage sensitive or complex issues.

* Flexibility for interstate travel and occasional extended hours.

Desirable

* Program/project coordination and stakeholder engagement experience (desirable)

* Knowledge of the Australian health system, medical education, regulation, or accreditation.
