About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to protect our interests by providing surveillance and monitoring services for third-party works on the network, including Water Authorities, Utility Providers, Transport Operators, and private sector developers.
Our key objective is to minimize the impact of these works on our ability to meet maintenance obligations and contractual KPI requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Attend pre-commencement, hold-point, practical completion, and final completion meetings and inspections.
* Conduct quality control and auditing to ensure completed third-party works meet quality requirements and design specifications.
* Report non-conformance issues, maintain records, and update programs as needed.
* Develop relationships with contractors, DoT project teams, utility contractors, and transport operators to create a collaborative environment.
* Understand and communicate our obligations under the Road Management Act (RMA) and sub-delegated authority.
* Review design drawings and conduct asset take-offs for recording additional assets.
About You:
You will have a tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a construction-related discipline, accompanied by extensive experience in managing road maintenance and/or capital works projects.
You will also possess:
* Qualifications in asset management or quality management (desirable).
* Understanding of the Road Management Act, Road Management Plan, and asset maintenance works.
* Familiarity with VicRoads Specifications and quality systems.
* Knowledge of impacts of construction activities on life cycle maintenance obligations.
* Understanding of DoT Construction specifications.
* Whole-of-life road maintenance principles and strategies.
* Reporting and document control skills.
* Quality control and management of Third Parties.
