Geotechnical Engineer (Underground Mine) - NSW

This role involves working on a variety of projects, including infrastructure, tunnelling, and mining projects in Sydney and NSW from our Pyrmont Office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review geotechnical data for design input and develop hazard plans to ensure safe operations
* Implement permit-to-drill and mine plans, and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance
* Provide geological advice and assess underground critical areas to identify potential risks
* Develop and maintain geotechnical risk management strategies aligned with NSW regulations
* Collaborate with the technical services department to conduct regular audits and inspections
* Apply industry standards to perform stability analyses of UG excavations and open-pit slopes
* Optimize ground support policies and enhance selective mining processes to improve efficiency and safety
* Develop and implement policies to reduce overbreak and dilution while maintaining a safety focus
About You
* Proven track record in geotechnical engineering, preferably in an underground mining environment
* Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or Mining Engineering
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Proficient in geotechnical and mining software, including LeapFrog, Minex, Plaxis, Rocscience suite, and Map3D
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to apply industry standards to complex problems
