The role
Our Application Support Analyst is involved in the preparation of technical specifications and configuration of the application to meet documented requirements. You'll also be responsible for the ongoing support of our Customers, assistance with installing and configuring our Software applications, incident triaging and resolution, and Customer relationship management.
You will work closely with our software developers, providing support for internal, cloud-based and on-premises customer Linux systems, scripting for product deployment, monitoring, and management, and providing insight and support for product improvement.
Our applications are cloud-based and on-premises applications, your day-to-day will include monitoring and support of virtual infrastructure, investigating and responding to customer-reported issues or queries, and managing deployment of cloud-based and on-premises applications including supporting internal and customer test processes through to time-critical go-lives.
To be successful in this role, you will be outgoing, enthusiastic, and customer-centric in your approach. You will possess strong Linux Administration skills coupled with strong XML and SQL skills. You have a strong commitment to working in a team and understand what it means to be accountable to both them and your customers.
The things you need to succeed:
* Java administration including XML, SQL and application support experience;
* Linux generalist experience, covering operating system, storage (including LVM) and networking;
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in software application support;
* Experience with scripting languages, ideally Python and JavaScript;
* Excellent customer communication skills;
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills;
* Ability to work well in a team environment;
* Experience with AWS
* Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines; and
* University Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
It would be really great if you also had:
* Network admin/ network engineer experience;
* Experience in an IT / Health / Health Informatics role;
* Experience with Health Integration Engines and HL7 messaging;
* Domain knowledge of the Health Sector (ideally EMR, PAS, clinical systems);
* Experience with JIRA;
* Experience in Health IT projects/products;
* Experience with Confluence and SharePoint;
* Windows server administration experience.
