The Opportunity
TAMS are seeking an experienced, commercially minded HR Leader to provide strategic and operational oversight of Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Industrial Relations across the Group.
Partnering closely with senior leaders, this role ensures compliance with employment legislation and industrial instruments, leads workforce planning and organisational development, and oversees the full employee lifecycle. The position also manages enterprise agreement obligations and union engagement, while driving fit-for-purpose HR frameworks, continuous improvement, and culture initiatives aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational HR, ER, and IR advice across the full employee lifecycle.
* Lead the development and implementation of compliant HR policies, frameworks, and systems.
* Oversee workforce planning, succession, recruitment, performance, remuneration, and employee development.
* Act as the escalation point for complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disputes, and grievances.
* Ensure compliance with enterprise agreements, awards, the Fair Work Act, and National Employment Standards.
* Manage union engagement, Right of Entry matters, enterprise bargaining, and external tribunal processes.
* Deliver workforce reporting and insights to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
* Lead and develop the HR function, including internal capability and external service providers.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Law, a related discipline.
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations legislation.
Proven experience managing complex ER and IR matters, including investigations and enterprise bargaining.
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and operationally in a fast-paced environment.
High integrity, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and sound commercial judgement.
Experience with HRIS, workforce data, and reporting.
Experience in heavy industry, construction, marine, or similar environments.
Exposure to multi-site or remote workforces.
Familiarity with ISO frameworks and workforce compliance audits.
A senior leadership role with genuine influence across the Group.
Collaborative, pragmatic executive team.
Autonomy and trust to shape HR, ER and IR frameworks.
