Duration: 12 month with 2*12 month extensions

Join a geographically distributed, high-performing digital team shaping user-centred content experiences at scale. Working across multiple locations, the team brings together expertise in content design, UX, digital strategy, and emerging technologies including AI.
You'll be part of a broader digital experience function focused on delivering clear, accessible and trusted digital services, with a strong emphasis on innovation and continuous improvement.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a website-focused Content Designer to drive the quality and effectiveness of digital content across large-scale platforms.
Responsibilities
* Drive improvements to digital content through adhering to the Digital Content Strategy.
* Work with business to collaboratively develop content that meets user needs and best practice.
* Apply a variety of tools to develop content that is inclusive and accessible for the Australian public.
* Through partnerships with other Government agencies, we help shape whole-of-government digital communication standards.
* Maintain, apply and promote use of the ATO style guide, Content Experience Toolkit and Australian Government Style Manual to align content with best practice guidance.
* We honour our commitment to digital inclusion, delivering accessible content across digital channels.
* Provide strategic leadership for content design across AI enabled platforms and search, ensuring content is discoverable, trusted, and aligned to organisational priorities.
Qualifications
* Strong experience designing web content within information architecture and CMS environments
* Ability to work across pages, components and end-to-end user journeys
* Expertise in plain language, accessibility, and inclusive writing standards
* Confidence translating complex policy or technical information into clear, actionable content
* Experience collaborating with UX, UI and research teams, using insights and testing to improve content
* A proactive approach to uplifting team capability through mentoring and knowledge sharing
