The Role
If your interest is in project/program functions and would like to support the delivery of infrastructure, capability and security programs within the Pacific region, this is the job for you. In this role, you will be engaging in dynamic problem solving and issues management in the Department of Defence, Pacific Division.
Duties will include the following:
* Provide support to project managers be undertaking analysis on historical trends to assist in the preparation of project finance reporting and project/program performance reporting;
* Support procurement activities providing assistance to project and commercial managers in the development of simple procurement submissions.
* Support the zero base budget development and ongoing project management support including the development of administrative procedures and practices;
* Build and sustain stakeholder engagement, including the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate effectively across a range of stakeholders;
* Strong problem solving skills including thinking outside of the box.
About our Team
Pacific Division provides many opportunities for engagement and collaboration. The Divisions primary role is to provide program delivery and support to Pacific partners. The Branches within the Division deliver capability development programs including infrastructure, maritime security and the Defence Cooperation Programs.
Pacific Maritime Branch provides program delivery and maritime security policy direction to deepen Defence's engagement and collaboration with partners across the Pacific.
Indo-Pacific Infrastructure Branch manages the delivery and maintenance of security-related facilities and infrastructure in partner nations with a focus across the Indo-Pacific.
The Branch is supported by various roles and functions including APS and ADF Engineers, Finance, Contract, Program and Project Management, and Business Management.
New Zealand, Timor Leste and Regional Governance Branch sets the regional policy direction on Defence's international engagement in the Pacific.
Pacific Bilateral Branch provides policy advice and manages Australia's Defence relationships with Pacific Island Countries.

Key skills:
* Administrative project management support, inclusive of project financial management is highly desirable;
* Well-developed professionalism and interpersonal skills to liaise, collaborate and build productive stakeholder relationships with the resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure;
* Support multiple tasks including inputs to project reviews, financial data analysis, end of month activities including rephasing and forecasting financial plans within a complex environment; and
* Demonstrate highly developed written and verbal communication skills and provide accurate and timely support to project managers and project Directors.

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
