**Laboratory Technician - Job Description**

Laboratory Technicians are responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of samples, technical documents and their preparation as well as the clean and organised operation of the laboratory.
**The role**
- Safe, methodical, clean and efficient work in a laboratory
- Maintaining lab cleanliness (including clean up) and organisation, upholding standard operation procedures of the laboratory.
- Preparation and gathering of standard documentation such as Certificate of Analyses, Safety Data Sheets, stability reports, Ingredient lists, Product Information & Specification Sheets, and Technical data sheets
- Performing pH/moisture/specific gravity/microbial, calibration of equipment and various other tests as per standard GMP, for the purposes of the below preparation of documentation or for R&D
- Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and behaviour.
- Maintain test results and records
- Maintain testing equipment and facilities and troubleshooting on lab equipment.
- Undertaking consumable stocktakes and housekeeping duties for the tasks performed.
- Aid in the formulation and preparation of new product samples, both solid bar and liquid builds
- Assist on the factory floor, packing down product, product transfer and other tasks when requested
- Assisting in other duties as required
Reports directly to the Formulation Chemist and Technical Manager(s).
**To be considered for this role, you need to have**:
- Tertiary qualification / diploma in a relevant discipline (or equivalent or in progress)
- Moderate proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills, including report writing.
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously.
- The ability to identify and analyse problems and come up with solutions
- Strong punctuality and reliability. The manufacturing site is located in Cromer, Sydney. Proximity to our site will be considered. It is advantageous to reside no more than 45 mins from the site.
- Previous experience in the personal care industry and/or manufacturing is not required however is advantageous.
**Contract length**: NA
**Part-time hours**: 8-18hours per week, 8-9 hour shifts. (starting at 8:30AM Mon-Fri)
**Job Types**: Casual / Part Time (dependent on applicant and experience)
**Pay**: Attractive wage would be offered to the right fit, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
