We have an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and proactive Animal Care Attendant to join our team
What You Will Do:
As an Animal Care Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional in-house care to animals who come into Council's custody for a variety of reasons. Working closely with a supportive team, you will ensure our facility runs safely, smoothly, and in line with legislative requirements and Council procedures.
This role involves hands-on work with animals and provides a unique opportunity to make a real impact on their wellbeing, whether through feeding, cleaning, exercising, monitoring health, or supporting rehoming efforts.
Whether it is a lost pet looking for its way home or an animal in need of a fresh start, your role will directly impact their journey.
What We Are Looking For:
* Current "C" class driver's licence with the ability to independently drive between business locations to meet operational needs.
* Certificate IV Animal Control and Regulation; or Cert IV Animal Behaviour; or Training in or Cert IV Vet Nursing.
* Authorised Microchip Implanter.
* Demonstrated previous experience / knowledge in pound operations and in legislation specific to the operation of pounds in relation to local governments.
* Ability to handle animals, in particular dogs, cats and livestock.
* Understanding and ability to utilise animal capture techniques.
* Ability to understand and assess dangerous animal behaviour.
* Ability to relate in a courteous and diplomatic manner, particularly in dispute situations.
