What's the role?
We are seeking a NSW Real Estate Journalist to join our digital editorial team. This role is ideal for an aspiring journalist passionate about real estate and digital storytelling. Reporting to the Real Estate Editor, you will create compelling content that drives audience engagement and referral traffic to realestate.com.au.
Key Responsibilities
* Research and write engaging real estate content, including news, features and market trends.
* Take direction from the Real Estate Editor and Content Director to align with content strategies.
* Optimise content for digital audiences, using SEO and social media best practices.
* Monitor audience analytics and refine content based on performance data to reach NSW Real Estate KPIs and referral targets.
* Build relationships with industry sources, including agents, developers, and market analysts.
* Collaborate with video and multimedia teams to enhance storytelling.
* Work on weekends to get close to the property action for auctions and breaking property news stories.
Who are you?
* A degree in journalism, media, communications, or a related field.
* Strong writing, editing, and research skills with an ability to turn complex data into relatable stories.
* Understanding of SEO, social media trends, and audience engagement strategies.
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced, deadline‐driven environment.
* A proactive and adaptable approach, with a keen eye for audience needs.
Desirable
* Experience using content management systems (CMS) and analytics tools.
* 1‐2 years of experience in digital journalism, ideally with a focus on real estate, finance, or home.
* Video editing and on‐camera experience.
* Homepage editing or digital producer experience.
