Manager in Training (MIT) | Essendon | Premium Furniture Retail
I'm currently partnering with a leading Australian premium furniture retailer to recruit a Manager in Training (MIT) for their Essendon showroom.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced retail leader or high-performing Assistant Manager to step into a structured development pathway toward full Store Manager responsibility within a high-performing, design-led retail environment.
About the Role
As a Manager in Training, you will work closely with senior leadership while taking hands-on responsibility across all areas of store performance. This role is designed to fast-track your progression into a Store Manager position, with full exposure to sales leadership, team development, and showroom operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive sales performance and support achievement of store KPIs
* Lead and motivate the team on the showroom floor
* Deliver an elevated, consultative customer experience
* Support stock management, visual merchandising, and showroom presentation
* Assist with rostering, wage control, and operational excellence
* Develop strong product knowledge across premium furniture ranges
* Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager
What We're Looking For
* Strong background in retail sales or Assistant Store Manager level leadership
* Confidence in a high-value, consultative selling environment
* Strong communication and customer engagement skills
* Commercial mindset with a drive to exceed targets
* Interest in home, interiors, or premium furniture strongly advantageous
* Natural leadership ability with a desire to progress into Store Management
