Job Title: Youth Justice Officer
This is a permanent, full-time vacancy located in Kununurra.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Caseworker for young people on Statutory orders to ensure successful integration and rehabilitation.
* We are seeking a collaborative team player to work closely with families to identify and plan bail options.
* Provide and maintain centralised coordination and contact with bail facility staff, family members and other relevant agencies to enhance case management and customer service delivery.
* Expert advice will be provided to courts and represent Youth Justice Services on issues pertaining to bail to promote effective justice outcomes.
* A range of assessment and referral pathways will be developed and implemented for young people to appropriate organisations to divert them away from the Criminal Justice System.
* The role involves undertaking, facilitating and engaging with young people referred to the Juvenile Justice Team to foster positive relationships and trust.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, applicants who work directly with children and young people must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one.
