About the Role
The primary responsibility of this position is to design, implement, and maintain the data and communications network infrastructure for a university setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Network Infrastructure Design: Develop and implement network architecture in accordance with University and IT policy, principles, and guidelines.
* Installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting: Install, configure, and troubleshoot physical and virtual routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
* Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to end-users on network-related issues.
* Standard Operating Procedures: Define, document, and enforce standard procedures for network operations, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance and identify potential issues to ensure optimal system functionality.
* Security Measures: Establish and enforce access policies to secure the network system.
* Infrastructure Upgrades: Plan, schedule, and execute network system upgrades and replacements, ensuring successful completion within planned timeframes.
* Disaster Recovery Planning: Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.
