Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Regional Health and Community Services is a not-for-profit organisation providing culturally attuned, integrated health and community services on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. Katungul is managed by a Chief Executive Officer reporting to an elected Board of Directors.

We are currently seeking a full time Communications Manager who will play a key role in promoting and raising awareness of our services and accountabilities through the management of a broad range of internal and external communication strategies. Reporting to the CEO, this position is responsible for working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure delivery of effective communications are of a high written and visual standard and comply with organisational guidelines.

Through the advocacy of organisational values, cultural practices and professional conduct the Communications Manager will develop, grow and maintain strategic communication partnerships that benefit the organisation in achieving organisational objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities

**Communications and marketing**
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that addresses the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop an annual communications budget aligned with strategic direction and adaptable to changing circumstances.
- Contribute to the organisation strategic direction and lead the implementation of communication and marketing initiatives, including the development of business and growth strategies.
- Oversee all production of print, online and media materials.

**Stakeholder Management**
- Manage the governance and integrity of all communications and drive efficiencies to meet organisational goals.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships to increase the reach of the organisation, including through sponsorship, advertising and stakeholder management.
- Evaluate corporate communication efforts to evolve strategies over time and continue focus in building the organisation's profile.
- Liaise with Managers on communication requirements and where required provide training/coaching on appropriate responses.

**Reporting**
- Partner across business areas as required and provide support and advice on current and future information needs in preparation for the annual report.
- Provide reports, briefs and/or other documents to the Directors, the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors as requested.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism or communications or substantial background in communications or related area.
- Experience working in media, marketing or communications, preferably for an Aboriginal organisation, not-for-profit or community services organisation.
- Experience in delivering campaign development in the health and community sectors.
- Experience in conducting market research and analysis to evaluate trends.
- Experience in media relations, confidence in preparing senior executive staff for media appearances, and strong working relationships with key media contacts.
- Strong written communication skills across multiple formats, targeted to diverse audiences
- Cultural capability: the ability to plan, support, deliver and improve services in a culturally respectful and appropriate manner.
- Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
- Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
- This position requires that the worker possess an NSW unrestricted Driver Licence
- A current Working With Children Check and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (Police Check) clearance
- Must be able to do a pre-employment medical as well as a drug and Alcohol screening test and random testing as per company policy
