Specialist Plumber/Drainer – Gympie Regional Council
Overview: A varied and challenging role. You will play a pivotal role in the maintenance of the water supply and sewerage network for the Gympie Regional Council.
Remuneration: Competitive annual salary commencing at $77,909 plus 7.703% Market Loading, allowances, and up to 14% superannuation. Market Loading reviewed annually.

Responsibilities
* Demonstrated experience of greater than 2 years in a similar role within a water industry environment.
* Demonstrated experience in undertaking plumbing and draining related tasks in accordance with industry relevant codes.
* Planning and organising plumbing and draining related work under remote supervision.
* Operate small plant, vehicles, equipment and tools in a competent, proficient and safe manner.
* Demonstrate team leadership skills.
* Physical agility and dexterity to carry out regular labouring duties.
* Maintain harmony within a team and foster good working relationships with all council employees and members of the public.
* Use digital technology (smart phones, tablets) for workflow management and reporting.
* Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
* Current Plumber/Drainer License.
* Queensland MR Class driver's license or above that is current and maintained.
* Construction Industry White/Blue card.
* Traffic Management Implementation.
* Work in a safe manner in accordance with Council's safety policies and procedures.
* Lodge all relevant forms for Notifiable Work.
* Operate light plant safely and efficiently to deliver works programmes of the Water Branch.
* Work as a leading hand or PIC to assist maintenance of the water supply network focusing on water quality, hygiene, regulatory compliance and public health.
* Assist in the operations and maintenance of the sewerage network focusing on environmental protection and public safety.
* Identify new ways to improve work practices in line with Council's continuous improvement commitment.
* Communicate respectfully and effectively with members of the public, management and team members.
* Participate in the on‐call roster as required.
* Any other duties within the level of responsibility.
Qualifications
* Current Plumber/Drainer License.
* Queensland "MR" Class driver's licence or above that is current and maintained.
* Construction Industry White/Blue card.
* Traffic Management Implementation.
* Experience in a water industry environment.
* Plumbing and draining task experience.
* Ability to work independently under remote supervision.
* Proficiency with digital technology for workflow and reporting.
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Leadership and teamwork skills.
* Physical fitness for labouring duties.
