What You'll Be Doing
Responsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities including the coordination and provisions of scientific and technical training and the ongoing review, development and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement.

Key Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in anatomical pathology laboratory practice, including histology workflows (e.g. specimen reception, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining and special stains), and use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Management systems.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with pathologists, clinicians, and laboratory staff, and to accurately document and communicate technical information.
* Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, contributing to specialised anatomical pathology techniques and delivering accurate results within required timeframes.
* Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot issues across histology processes (e.g. processing, microtomy, staining) and apply established scientific principles to resolve routine and complex laboratory challenges.
* Sound understanding of laboratory quality standards and accreditation requirements (e.g. NATA/ISO), as well as relevant legislation including work health and safety and privacy requirements.
