About the Role
We're on the hunt for a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our Pre-Contracts team in Perth HQ.
If you're already an experienced estimator or someone ready to take the next step up into a senior role this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.
You'll work alongside a supportive and high-performing team, taking tenders from concept through to submission. Think strategy, problem-solving, value engineering, and helping us put our best foot forward on high-value projects.
What you'll be doing:
* Lead and support bids from start to finish keeping timelines sharp and quality first-rate.
* Ensure tender is managed in a timely manner to allow adequate time for senior management review.
* Positively manage relationships with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants.
* Explore creative value engineering opportunities.
* Mentor and share experience with junior team members.
* Assist in the development of the tender strategy and manage the tender deliverables.
* Identify risk and ensure all risks are recorded and accounted for within the tender.
* Attend tender reviews with senior management and ensure all action items are recorded and closed out.
* Ensure tender submissions meet any closure deadlines and are in the format required by the prospective client.
* Manage post tender correspondence and respond to queries raised under the approval of the Precontracts Manager.
* Support the Precontracts Manager and Commercial Manager in negotiations with Clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
What you'll bring:
* Minimum 5 years estimating experience – preferably in EPC or large-scale electrical environments
* Demonstrated ability in comprehension and interpretation of contractual documents, specifications and drawings.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in contract tendering procedures.
* Demonstrated experience in pricing Solar and BESS projects would be advantageous, though applicants with relevant experience across associated electrical or renewable energy fields are also encouraged to apply.
* A collaborative, proactive approach - and a good sense of humour doesn't hurt either.
Core Skills
* Highly proficient in the use of estimating software such as Expert Estimating or equivalent.
* Excellent measurement and quantity take-off skills.
* Familiar with and able to estimate based on first principles.
* Ability to schedule works using Microsoft project or P6.
* Ability to write technical electrical submissions in support of wider tender bids
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
* Flexible approach to working hours and meeting strict deadlines.
* Understanding and compliance with company procedural requirements.
