**Consumer Peer Support Worker**
- ** Part-time 1 day/evening per week 16 hours per fortnight**
- **Community role based adjacent to Royal Melbourne Hospital**
- We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced peer support worker, to work as part of a team to actively engage our community based consumers in our Safe Haven project. You will encourage activity, offer support and engage with some of our services most vulnerable consumers. Safe Haven is a non-clinical space where consumers can hang out and connect with caring people.

- Work with a close knit team of lived experience professionals that are dynamic, innovative and supportive.
- Your work will involve liaising with other lived experience staff in Emergency Department and EMH roles across various programs.
- As part of the Lived Experience team you will be invited to our weekly team meeting, will be part of our co-reflection space and will have a monthly line management catch up.
- Supervision is provided to all lived experience staff.
**About you**:
- Empower consumers to make their own choices about their treatment and recovery with an emphasis on strengthening their internal resources to move forward.
- Support individuals to create external links in the community for ongoing support.
- Assist consumers by ensuring they actively participate in their own identified recovery goals.
- Requires an understanding of how mental health services work, a resilient and positive approach, and good communication skills.
